Wordless Wednesday : Quirky Fashion Style

What I love here in Singapore is that people are very comfortable in expressing themselves through fashion. They are not afraid to wear whatever they feel like wearing may it be cutesy or quirky. I wonder if I would have the guts to be this daring if I were their age now? Would you ?

    Hi Jade,
How the fashion trend changes. I don’t really follow what’s “in” in the fashion world. I still prefer what’s comfy to me and what makes me feel good. Not all can pull what’s the latest trend.

    Take care :]

When I was younger in my teens and up to mid 20′s, I dress up in such a way I want to express myself. I dressed quirky then. Now that I’m old, I don’t think it’s appropriate for a 40 year old to dress that way like the one in the photo

I wish I was more daring with fashion and love seeing those who really know how to put it together.

I visited NYC for the first time this summer and the one thing that I immediately realized that no one cares! It was such a free feeling. I was not expecting that. I tend not to like large crowds, but it had the opposite impact on me that I expected.

It just looks uncomfortable to me!

I’m passed the stage where fashion takes precedence over comfort.

Pinoy Teens have started to wear these kinds of clothes too. You can see some of them hanging out in some malls where they attract a lot of attention.

I guess each to his/her own.

Back in my younger days, looks were not as different from now. I must admit, back when I was 16 or 17 and was the trend that time, I got to wear hot pants. Aawww:-)

The term ‘hot pants’ alone could make you guess from what era I am from :-)

Young generation tends to imitate the fashion from Japan and Korea. Even in Taipei you can see younger people wearing those kind of outfits.

It only a matter of what crowd you belong and comfortable with. I grew up in Taipei and those type of outfits doesnt shock me bec I’ve seen more funkier than that.

But for me, I still prefer the OL (office Lady) type of outfit in daytime and can add a little of sexiness if going out for clubbing or dinner.

I’ve a simple question: at the top of the photo there’s a sign says “We prefere”. What’s the rest of the sign?

    Just curious to know :)

haha! the same kind of question I had when I was in Taiwan… it seemed as though when you’re surrounded with people with the same style it’s no biggie at all:) well, still it’s too baduy for me, Jade, haha!

Honestly, can those spiked heels really be that comfortable???!! But it’s cool that people there are comfortable wearing whatever they feel like wearing!
