Jeweleries and History

Since the early times, people already used all sort of things like gems, diamond and gold to decorated themselves. In excavation of ancient tombs, people found exquisite items like golden comb and jeweleries made of lapis lazuli and other beautiful gemstones in the queen’s tomb.

Jewelry has always been a major part of every men and women‘s lives and is sometimes seen as a sign of wealth and power.

Marie Antoinette sewed jewels into the bodices of her garments.

Why do I say it’s also a part of man’s lives?

  • In some countries like Morocco, India and some more countries – men are expected to give their bride a dowry when they get married. Dowries can range from apartments, cash and kilos of jeweleries.
  • Another instance where jeweleries are part of men’s lives is for Shaman or tribe leaders also wear jeweleries.
  • Also men buy gold jewelery as a life investment.

I am Jewelery fanatic myself but I don’t think I would shell out thousands of dollars on expensive pieces. I’d rather be able to buy several pieces than spend it on one go at one expensive piece. But of course if you are going to give it to me for free then that’s another story ;)

I especially like Oriental and Egyptian ones designs because of their uniqueness.
