I love big families. I don’t know if we will be blessed to have them too…we’ll see. Right now I have been spending a lot of time watching Family Shows on Home Discovery Channel’s Home & Health.
One of my favorites is the Duggar Family. They have a total of 18 kids at the moment, yes you read it right 18 kids. Michelle gave birth to their 18th child on December 18, 2008.
Now some of you might think how can they manage so many… before you make any assumptions I’ll tell you a bit of what I have know from watching their show.
Jim and Michelle Duggar are religious people and have let God decide the size of their family. They impart good values to their children. They are also very organized – you would think that in such a big family, it would be a big chaos. Michelle has a done a marvelous job in having a good organization in the family.
And how can they financially sustain the family ? Jim is an real estate investor and is also involved in local politics. So no they don’t rely on government aid.
I just wonder how they go on vacation or outing with so many kids. I think that to go on holidays, an rv or bus would be the most economical choice for their traveling and lodging. I don’t know if one would be enough for all of them but it sure would be cheaper than to go to a hotel.
Anyway if you want to know more about them, head on to their website: Duggar Family.

I love the Duggars! I have the devil of a time managing just 2 little rugrats…and I am amazed at how well Michelle pulls everything off and keeps the harmony levels even with that many children!! Hat’s off to the entire family!

I just love the Duggars too! It seems I always finish the show feeling so guilty of my lack of motherly instinct Michele so clearly possesses. Still inspirational.
Thanks for sharing!
