When is the Nesting Phase?
I am looking forward to the Nesting phase…Yes I really am. At the moment I am just tired all the time and don’t really want to do anything but eat and sleep. I wish I am not this way, I want to clean up and catch up on my ironing but I can’t seem to find the energy. Is this normal?
When I find some energy I hope to organize the chinaware and wine glasses I have. I am choosing between the wine glass rack, stemware rack, glass racks or hanging wine glass racks. The latter is actually my favorite.
Anyhoo, back to our subject, I heard that the nesting phase happens at about the fifth month of pregnancy, how about you did this happen to you too during your pregnancy??

Hey Jade, being tired and wanted to sleep all the time was norm to my 3rd to last pregnancy.
The nesting phase does not come until the last trimester (last month) for me. The last month was always a drag for me. But when I get the energy to clean and do all sort of things (nesting phase) it means the baby is coming pretty soon.
Don’t worry about not doing anything. You need all that rest you can get to have a healthy baby or babies. Good luck.

@ Nedekcir – Thanks for sharing me your experience. I do feel guilty sometimes that I am not able to do as many stuff I want to do. But you are right – I should not worry too much about these stuff.
For me it was much later. The 7th month. I don’t know if it is different for everyone. How far are you exactly? I was so tired I didn’t want to MOVE the whole first trimester.

Ah, the nesting phase. You have many months before that kicks in my sweet friend. With my daughter (my first child), I started “nesting” around the 8th month. I had to have her room finished, the house had to be spotless, and I agonized over every little detail. Did I have everything baby-proofed? Was there anything around that could be dangerous for her? Did I have childproof locks for all the cabinets? Did I have enough diapers? Did I have enough clothes? I was obsessive about having everything just PERFECT.
With the 2nd and 3rd children; however, I was not *quite* as obsessive. I made sure that the house was cleaned and baby-proofed, that I had plenty of what I knew I would need on hand to begin with, and learned from experience.
It varies with everyone – I’ve talked to some women who never had that *nesting phase* feeling at all. I can’t imagine how they did not, as I thought I would go nuts trying to get everything *just so* for the little ones, but everyone is different!
As for the being tired, you haven’t seen anything yet. Your body is undergoing a MASSIVE change right now – you are GROWING A NEW LIFE (LIVES) – and is going to sap every ounce of strength you have right now. After the first trimester though, things should level out and you will feel more like your “normal” self again during the second trimester. Then back to being tired again during the third trimester, although not as harsh as it is right now.
I suggest reading, “What To Expect When You’re Expecting.” It was an awesome book back when I had my children (20, 9 and 6 years ago) and through each child I learned something new from this book. It will help you out tremendously with questions you have.
Big hugs from the little one’s Cyber-Auntie!
@ TMWW – Thanks Cyber Auntie! Your comments and stories do help me a lot. They are very much appreciated. I am really looking forward to the coming months.
I will defintely check out What To Expect When You’re Expecting. Thanks agian.

I think there is a big part of that. My head did all sorts of crazy stuff from day one!!
So it is possible for you to be feeling that already. It only gets more fun from here!
