My Journey to Motherhood by Liz

Good afternoon everybody! As some of you know I am on bedrest due to my embryo transfer procedure, I am advised to take a bedrest so I won’t be able to blog much this coming weeks. I couldn’t leave you here hanging so I asked some of my good friends to guest post for me. If you want to do guest post too here at MommaWannabe, do let me know by filling in the contact form.

Who are you?

You talking about what’s my name? Or  me as a person. My name is Liz, and I am a wife and a mom.

What is motherhood like ?

For me, motherhood is the hardest job in the whole wide world. Women weren’t born mothers, they become one when they start having kids, they learn from scratch as they go along, they get great with it.

When did you know you are ready for motherhood?

No one can never tell if they are ready to be a mother. I thought I was never going to be a mother, but when I did, ready or not, I  just have to be one.

What challenges did you face during the first years?

My first born was cared for by my mom when he was little. Since my mom was more protective that I was, I really didn’t know how to be a mom. My second child on the other hand was tough for me. I didn’t know that babies can throw up from their nose, wahhhh! My husband knew better than I did. Roan had circumcision 2 days after he was born, and it was hard to change his diaper without thinking that I might hurt him. He also was colic when he was a baby, so the first night he was home, I had to sleep holding him all night. He cries a lot, but I managed to go through that with the help of my hubby.

How many children do you have and do you want more?

I have 4 children, summertime, we have 6 altogether. And no, I won’t have no more babies, I got my tubal ligation after Alexandra was born.

What do you like about being a mother/ parent? What do I like?

The feeling of being a mother is overwhelming, it can drive me crazy most of the time, but the thought of I brought these kids out to this world and I know that I love them unconditionally, is enough reason for me to like being a mom. When Wrozlie tells me that I am her best friend, when Roan would say that I am the bestest mom in the world, when AJ would say I love you too Mommy..all these things, it makes me want to shout and say, ” Hey, I am a mother and I am loving it..”

Is there anything you dislike about being a mother/parent ?

The only thing that I dislike is..when I go somewhere and my kids weren’t with me, I don’t feel good. No matter how mad they make me, I want them next to me all the time. Being a mother/parent, you can neveer be with them 24/7, so..

What advice would you give to anyone following in your footsteps?

There is really no perfect advice, since there is no perfect mother. Every person has their own way of raising their kids. All I can say is Love your kids and enjoy every moment you spend with them. They grow so fast and before you know it, they’re out the door.

What are your plans for the future?

Plans for what? Well, if you are asking about plans for my kids, I am just planning of raising them the best I can, I want them to realize that I love them and I will do anything for them, that I am willing to die for them. I hope that they grow up to be the best person they can ever be. Not forget who they are and where they came from.
