Have a very Merry Christmas !!!

Hello! Welcome back to my blog :)

Choosing a Father’s Day Gift

You can bet your bottom dollar that in almost every mall in the city these days, you’ll find a father’s day sale beckoning and trying to get your attention. That special day is almost upon us, so we should definitely start diving into the endless sea of Father’s day gifts out in the market to pick out that one thing which will plaster a huge smile on our special man’s face.

Deciding on a gift for our fathers or husbands is no easy task. It helps to think about his personality here. If he’s the techie type, you could get him the latest phone or better yet an Apple iPad 2 . I am sure you would be a total hit! Or you could consider something which he may need, like a simple mug for the office, or a new watch.

When picking out a gift for anybody you love, here are points to consider: his interests, personality, needs, and of course your budget.

Tired and Sleepless

Wow it’s been two weeks since I posted an entry here … I don’t know what happened but it’s like when Sean turned 5 months old,  there was also a switch that was turned on. A switch for waking up in the wee hours in the morning and not sleeping anymore. It’s been like that for the last two weeks that’s why I don’t have much energy to blog. I am very tired.

Just this morning after I fed him, he  didn’t want to sleep anymore. He was moving around our bed, pulling his dad’s hair, leaning against me. All of a sudden he  vomited, I think he threw up everything he just drank. We had to get out of bed to wash him and take the bedsheets from the bed as well. We didn’t go back to bed anymore and went to the living room since we know he was not going to sleep any time soon..he super active. We on the other hand are super sleepy. We put him to play in his playpen. His dad went to make coffee and I slept at the sofa…I don’t know what happened next.

My hubby said, brace yourself because this is just the beginning! More fun sleepless nights to come :)

Happy 5th Month Birthday Sean

Look, look I can do push ups!

He just got his hair cut again, yep twice already in 5 months because he’s sweating so much with so much hair!

My little Prince Charming, I cannot believe it, you are Five months old already. You change so much everyday. I cannot even keep up with posting here the new little things you do. Let me see where to start, uhm okay there are times when you would scream on the top of your lungs while you look at our ceiling fan, I find it so funny!  And times when you would just start babbling like you have a story to tell.

You started rolling over and you can move around in your playpen on your belly or on your back backwards ! Sometimes you would cry because you would get stuck in a corner and cannot move furthur. Once we put you in the middle, you are okay again.

Another thing that you started doing these past few weeks is that you started grabbing our mouths and sticking your little fingers in it. You also play with our face alot and sometimes you scratch us if I don’t keep your fingernails trimmed really short.

There are many things in your environment that interests you like the japanese umbrella hanging on top of our room or the dragonflies that fly around in the afternoon. You love licking everything that you find interesting which makes me really crazy because I am worried of the germs and what not you get when you lick these stuff.

I can’t believe that next month you will be half a year old. I can’t wait to find out what new things you will do!

Baby Can Read

New moms like me can be dreadfully paranoid about our babies’ development. We are always anxiously waiting for our babies to reach milestone after milestone. Each one hoping that her child will turn out to be the new Einstein or Mozart or the millennium’s greatest genius.

An essential factor in becoming successful in whatever field is exceptional language skills. One has to be able to speak eloquently and converse intelligently for one to be able to share his thoughts. And, of course, one has to have excellent comprehension skills to get the most out of various learning experiences.

There are plenty of products and programs that target early childhood development and that claim to boost a young child’s cognitive abilities. It can be quite daunting for a mom like me to choose which ones are suitable for my son and which ones would greatly benefit him. One program I came across with targets early language development.

Your Baby Can Read, a program designed by Dr. Robert Titzer, was created specifically for teaching young children to read by exposing them to language and reading early in life. I have heard many positive feedbacks about this reading program but there are also some who refute the effectiveness of the program. I guess I wouldn’t really know if it works or not until I try it firsthand. I’m hoping my baby would already be reading by the time he turns a year old. But if not, then I’ll still be glad we got to have plenty of bonding moments while going through the program.

Plans for the New Year – A stay at Villas in Puerto Polensa?

At the start of the New Year, most people make a list of their New Year’s Resolution and everyone plans to pursue or make them a reality before the year ends. Most of these plans involve not only being fit and fab but also to be able to travel to any destinations be it locally or internationally. Sadly most of these plans do not become a reality because of various reasons. Like for an out of town vacation, some have waited until the last minute to book their flight and then came to realize that there are no more flights or hotels room available for that day.

A good thing to do is to plan ahead for your dream vacation; the best month would be January to March. Working moms and dads have a long vacation during Holy Week, so planning to have a vacation within this period should be planned early. Most of the resorts, hotels and villas are fully booked within this period. There are different resort and villas you can check out, the Villas in Puerto Pollensa and Villas in Alcudia are few of the highly recommended places to stay. This is the one of the best place to stay if you want to escape from your busy schedule, relax for a while and have a quality time with your love ones.

If you are already decided where to go, it is advisable to make a checklist of things that you might need to bring so that you are sure that you will not forget anything. You should pack your things earlier and not on the very night before the trip. Make sure to check the weather of the place you are going to visit. If it’s sunny there of course it’s recommended to bring comfortable clothes and extra hand towel, and if it’s cold then bringing a jumper or any clothes to cover you is advisable.
