Benefits of Playing Games Together as a Family

Oct 25, 2009 under Family | no comment

Have you ever made plans that just didn’t push through because they are simply not realistic?

I have , lots of times. When I was studying, I used to plan on ditching the television for a week so I can study more. I’m sure you can guess what happened next. I ended up resenting myself for the deprivation and watched television anyway.

We can apply this concept to planning a budget for your family. Sometimes, budget plans never materialize because they only look good on paper. In reality, depriving your family of the small things that make them laugh can be detrimental. If it means you will enjoy each other’s company by spending an hour or two in virtual gaming bliss, surely the cost of purchasing an xbox or a playstation is worth it.

Besides spending quality time as a family, you can help improve your kids’ morale by playing games with them. Considering these reasons, I can say that buying a gaming console like Xbox 360 or Playstation can be the best investment during the times when we have to tighten our belts.

Instead of cutting entertainment out of the budget without thinking of the consequences, find other means of saving cash. If, for instance, you have been going out as a family twice a month to watch a movie, maybe you can opt to play some games at home instead. Of course, you can still prepare popcorn to eat while you’re playing.

In the end, it’s the time that you spend together that really matters. If your family is not into video games, you can play snake and ladders, scrabble or other board games instead.

Holiday Shopping

The holidays are coming and I am very excited. This is my favorite time of the year as a kid and till now actually. I remember that we always get tons of surprises from grandma at this time.  The atmosphere is just so warm and loving! The house would have lots of goodies like chocolates lying around during Christmas. This is the time when the whole family is spending time together. I miss those times. I miss playing with my cousins and bossing them around as I was the oldest at that time – and just being a kid with nothing to worry about.

Now I am so craving for some chocolate candy! Even one bar of Butterfingers or Hershey’s would would suffice my carvings. But sadly I cannot eat chocolates at the moment as I get tons of pimples. Life is so unfair :( !

hersheysWell even if I cannot eat chocolate, I would still give my nieces and godchildren some goodies this Christmas if I can go back to the Philippines for a holiday. Candies and chocolates would surely make the children happy. I know that for a fact because I am still a big kid inside.

For parties and special occasions like Christmas and reunions, you can never go wrong if you bring candies and I know the place where to get them, check out SugarStand – they have a biggest selection of sweets, candies and chocolates I have ever seen. Believe me, you would feel like a kid again when you browse through their selections. They have the popular brands like Tootsie Roll, Wrigeley, Hersheys and I think everything else you could think of.

Ahh thinking about holiday and chocolates makes me so happy! Anyhoo, if you are preparing for the holidays too like me, take my advice shop for candies. Happy Candy Shoppping!
