Are you affected by the latest trends? I’d like to say I am not but I must admit that sometimes I do get influenced by what celebrities wear. Isn’t it that when we see that a celebrity is wearing it- we tend to want to have it too?
I don’t do it very often though. Most of the time I buy classic pieces of clothing so I can use it for a longer period of time. I won’t even mind buying ladies designer clothing if it’s something that is timeless and if the price is reasonable. I mean – I am not gonna buy something on credit. Like I told you in my other blog, we don’t spend money that we don’t have in our bank.
Anyway, summer is coming here in Asia and was looking around for a pretty maxi dress that I can wear during the day and I saw this one below at Desigual Clothes. It looks cute and bold.
Long dresses are in trend this year… I think it’s really cute especially for when I get pregnant. What about you, are you affected by the latest trends?
I have watched the Oscar’s this year. I was especially curious what was gonna happen when Brangelina and Jennifer Aniston would be there at the same time. Catfight? :0)
Hmmm …I really don’t know yet what went on off screen but Angelina was smiling or laughing when Jen made a joke with her co presentor Jack Black while presenting an award. And Jen even applauded when Angelina was mentioned for the Best Actress award. Oh well maybe they have moved on huh? They both look gorgeous but I like Angelina more for some reason.
I like watching this award shows to see celebs dress up. Can you imagine what kind of preparation goes through this? I mean I am really amazed and of course one of the most important key in this preparation is the make up artist. The celebrities cannot live without them.
I am especially amazed at the make up of Brad Pitt in his film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”. Greg Cannom – the artist behind it won the Best Make up award. I think he really deserves it. He did a wonderful job.
Sometimes I wish I have pursued my dream in becoming a make up artist. But I cannot be everything I want to be right? A friend of mine mentioned beauty school La James which she is considering going to when she has saved enough money.
Fashion keeps on changing every year but one thing that doesn’t change is STYLE. And tuxedos are the embodiment of style. Why should we let men be the only ones to enjoy the alluring elegance of a tuxedo? If I had an event to go to, I’d definitely would want to wear a tuxedo. Don’t you just love women who can pull off a sexy look wearing just about anything ? Especially when they wear a feminine tuxedo. Just look at these female celebs who has definitely pulled off the classic sophistication of the tuxedo.
Now Brad, if ever Angelina doesn’t feel like going to another award ceremony, give me a call so I can wear one of these sexy tuxedo jackets!
We are always on the lookout for ways of “improving” how we look. It could be as simple as putting a bit of eye makeup, coloring our hair or nice clothing and sometimes even having things done like plastic surgery.
There are times when I think these are all too much! Why can’t we just walk around and be ourselves…but who am I kidding? It is our nature to look our best.
But even if I admit that I like to look nice – I am not the type that would go to the extent of having surgery just to look nice. I will just settle for makeup which is the safest and easiest way to improve a woman’s appearance. Eye make is rather tricky. You need a steady hand and some creative mind to create a stunning effect. I don’t know if I have either of those
I envy my friends Cherry and Lily has alot of knowledge in the field of make up. Wish you were my neighbors! Oh well if you are like me and don’t have gal pal make up artists at close proximity, we can always find alternatives like Youtube.
I recently discovered this video tutorial from a pretty British girl broadcasting from her bedroom (with over 4 million views). Watch it and you will definitely learn a lot of techniques. She will save you some time in trying to avoid smudged eyeliner, cumpy lashes and wonky brows.
They say,” Eyes convey it all!” Eye makeup can make or break your look so make sure you get it right.
Here are a few tips I learned from watching talk shows and reading those glossies
Eye Shadows- Eye shadows are available in two forms; powder-based and cream based. Selection of power-based eye shadow is a good choice for routine eye make-up. Whereas if you apply a powder-based eye shadow along with light application of glossy cream-based eye shadow, across the eye-lids, you get an enhanced party look. To get a seductive smoky look, dust your eye shadow outwards.
Eye Lashes– Eye lashes act as the crown to your eyes. To make them look more impressive, don’t forget to curl them with a pre heated curler. If you don’t have dominant eye lashes, apply a pair of fake eye-lashes. After you are done with the shaping, apply good quality mascara. Take care that no blotches are formed. Comb your lashes to remove excess mascara. Cover the eye corners properly.
Eye Lining- Application of a foundation powder over the eye lids, prior to starting, can make your liner stick firmly. The key to an excellent “eye-lining” is to have sharp lining ends. They can make your eyes look stunning. Use a pencil to line your lower lid in the similar fashion.
Hope this helps girls… if you have more tips feel free to let me know about it so we can add it to the list of tips here.
Well since my last post was about fashion, lets go a bit deeper in to it. This is inspired by Lily’s post, do yo know her by the way? Well, shame on you if you don’t. LOL! You should seriously check her out. You will definitely laugh when you read her funny posts.
So anyway, hear goes my addition to that list of the worst fashion trends:
My No. 1Trucker hat- It is SO ugly! I see this everywhere in Singapore. I don’t understand why youngsters like this at all. I mean come on,! Are they trying to look as dumb as possible? I cannot even believe that Justin and Ashton are fighting for credits for this Super duper ugly fashion trend they started. They should actually be ashamed!
No. 2 Jelly Shoes – I heard it’s very comfortable but I won’t get caught with this shoes. It just looks so HIDEOUS. I am sorry if any of you gals have this but in my opinion – you should never ever wear this outside the house unless maybe your a little girl who is cute enough to get away with everything. By the way, cute is only for girls aged 12 and below.
No.3The Shoulder Pads I never liked this even when my mom was wearing it. I remember it tried to make a comeback 2 – 3 years ago, luckily that didn’t stay for good. Why would you want to give the impression that you have big shoulders?
No. 4Show your Boxers-this really really irritates the hell out of me. I mean why?
A guy with over sized jeans falling below his butt with his boxers showing.Whyyyyyyy?I still don’t understand what he aims to do.
Proposals to ban saggy pants are starting to ride up in several places. At the extreme end, wearing pants low enough to show boxers or bare buttocks in one small Louisiana town means six months in jail and a $500 fine.
Good! I hope they approve and pass that proposal all over the world!
No.5 Show your thong – this for me is kinda unclassy. Thongs are underwear and not meant to be shown public.
Is there anything else we have forgotten to mention?
