Puppy Love

I just discovered this ultra cute viedo!

And this video is actually an interactive commercial brought to you by Starhub – this was our chosen cable, internet and mobile provider when we were living in Singapore.

If you are not with Starhub yet, you really have  to Hub It!  This cool tool for the young and the young at heart really redefines entertainment.  Techies, gamers or regular Joes who are always on the look-out for new applications should definitely check this one out.  The Love Tail dog, Sparky, isn’t the only one who got married in this campaign. Starhub managed to marry TV, internet and mobiles to create a new dimension of interactive gaming.
The teasers and the commercials got me hooked with the concept of an adorable dog in a quest for love. It was really cute and endearing to the viewers.   Plus the fact that this is the first time that viewers can play an interactive game in a TV commercial. It got me searching the web for Hub It details.   What’s more exciting is that viewers can have their own quest for great prizes by playing the game.
For a limited time, players who can help Sparky find the love of his life can win funky gadgets and cash prizes.  The game is quite simple. All you have to do is look for the clues or hints in the Hub It app or the Starhub’s FB page.  The clues will give you the tasks that will help unlock a map and eventually lead you to Sparky’s love.
Searching for hidden clues and prizes is like going on a real life treasure hunt adventure which can be very engaging.  The clues and hints will be revealed only from August 26 to September 10 so download the Hub It! App now or head on to Starhub’s Facebook Page for your chance to find Sparky’s dream girl AND win big prizes.
Hello! Welcome back to my blog :)

Singapore’s Little Champions

The Standard Chartered’s Singapore Little Champions campaign is ongoing ( jointly promoted by Standard Chartered and MasterCard), and I bet a lot of children here are pretty excited about the outcome of this contest. Haven’t registered yet and don’t know what it is about? Well, for starters, let me say that this opportunity will let your child shine beside world-class soccer players at the 2009/2010 UEFA Champions League matches. Participants stand a chance to win a round-trip airfare, a three-night hotel stay and match tickets for you and your child, as well as the much-coveted player escort rights.

What needs to be done?

Simple. Spend at least $300 each month during the promotional period and register for the Little Champions Program and you’re on your way to giving your child one of the most exhilarating experiences of his/her life. For Korea, Standard Chartered’s Korea Little Champions there is a  as well, so there’s no need for Korean kids to fret. Deadline for registering is March 21, 2010, but in the event that you will not be able to beat the deadline, you can still win UEFA branded merchandise comprising sweater, cap and luggage bag. Register while it’s still early and enjoy the league with your child!

Operation: Sofa Makeover

I am tired of looking at the same old tones in our family room. It just seems so “safe”, you know what I mean?

new-house-at-bayshore

I want a more cheerful home so I will be on a mission in the coming weeks. I will try to makeover our home without spending a fortune. I aim to spend as little as possible as my grandma’s birthday is coming up so I want to save some money for her big birthday bash.

Today I went to Spotlight to check out some fabrics and with great ease I collected a few colorful fabrics which screamed “Spring Fever!” and got some other irresistible fabric pieces which I will sew into new tops for moi.

I will make this week new throw pillow covers and if I have enough time, I’ll make some tops for me too. Anyway, the sofas are my top priority. I am looking for a splash of color to brighten those sofas.

We don’t need to paint, buy new furniture, Sylvania light bulbs etc. The room just needs a little lift to have our spirits roar again!

Redecorating doesn’t always mean big! Sometimes even as small as new throw pillows is all you need.

Watch out for the reveal my lovelies!

Weekend Chilling

It’s Friday once again my lovelies – what do you plan to do this weekend? As for us we might check out the Peranakan Museum’s 1st Year Anniversary.

Highlights on Saturday, 25 April The festivities extend until 9.30pm on Saturday night, as The Melodians (a well-known Peranakan band from Malacca, Malaysia) will entertain the evening crowd (applicable to visitors with the Peranakan Museum admission sticker).

Highlights on Sunday, 26 April: Get up close and personal with MediaCorp artistes, Jeanette Aw and Pierre Png of Little Nonya fame, as they present song items, joget with the audience and banter in Baba Malay!

Address: 39 Armenian Street, Singapore 179941
Website: www.peranakanmuseum.sg
Admission Charges: $2 per person

And on Sunday, most probably we would be waking up really late, eat a brunch of scrambled egg with smoked salmon. It would have been picture perfect if I had one of those beautiful wicker outdoor dining sets like the ones you see in lifestyle magazines but we already have this metal garden set so I have to make do with that for now.

After that we will see how it goes… Anyway, I do hope you have a wonderful weekend my lovely readers ;) See you next week!

The Traveler's wife

My hubby travels quite a lot for his job -meetings, visit plants and sometimes to hire new people. I cannot always tag along with his trips because we would have to shoulder my expenses. And it won’t be any fun either because he will be working the whole time while I am sight seeing alone.

It has always been like this since I married him because he works for an American company so you would think I should be used to it by now. Well yes and no. There are times when it’s okay but sometimes I do get scared and wish that we had Hidden Camera outside our gate so that I can see who’s out there.

But now that we have moved from the landed house to a condominium, I am not so scared anymore. Nobody can enter our condominium complex without passing through the guards and also one needs to have an electronic key before he/she can enter a building. So it’s really safe!

I can say that the decision was a very good one. We love it here, I am enjoying watching the sunset, seeing lots of greenery because we are near to a park and of course I like the fact that we can use amenities like the gym and swimming pool whenever we want.

Oopps that reminds me, I need to start using the gym.

WS: Spring Baby

Little birdie, what are you thinking of ?
Hmm …what do I do today? Maybe I should start learning how to fly…
Beautiful brown baby bird

I don't know...my mummy left me here all alone *sigh*

This bird was born two years ago in the garden of the first house we lived in Singapore. I managed to make a close up picture because he or she was still a baby.

This bird reminds me of spring – a new born, a new beginning. Have a great new week guys!!!
