Singapore’s Little Champions

Feb 20, 2010 under Singapore | 3 comments

The Standard Chartered’s Singapore Little Champions campaign is ongoing ( jointly promoted by Standard Chartered and MasterCard), and I bet a lot of children here are pretty excited about the outcome of this contest. Haven’t registered yet and don’t know what it is about? Well, for starters, let me say that this opportunity will let your child shine beside world-class soccer players at the 2009/2010 UEFA Champions League matches. Participants stand a chance to win a round-trip airfare, a three-night hotel stay and match tickets for you and your child, as well as the much-coveted player escort rights.

What needs to be done?

Simple. Spend at least $300 each month during the promotional period and register for the Little Champions Program and you’re on your way to giving your child one of the most exhilarating experiences of his/her life. For Korea, Standard Chartered’s Korea Little Champions there is a  as well, so there’s no need for Korean kids to fret. Deadline for registering is March 21, 2010, but in the event that you will not be able to beat the deadline, you can still win UEFA branded merchandise comprising sweater, cap and luggage bag. Register while it’s still early and enjoy the league with your child!

Operation: Sofa Makeover

I am tired of looking at the same old tones in our family room. It just seems so “safe”, you know what I mean?

I want a more cheerful home so I will be on a mission in the coming weeks. I will try to makeover our home without spending a fortune. I aim to spend as little as possible as my grandma’s birthday is coming up so I want to save some money for her big birthday bash.

Today I went to Spotlight to check out some fabrics and with great ease I collected a few colorful fabrics which screamed “Spring Fever!” and got some other irresistible fabric pieces which I will sew into new tops for moi.

I will make this week new throw pillow covers and if I have enough time, I’ll make some tops for me too. Anyway, the sofas are my top priority. I am looking for a splash of color to brighten those sofas.

We don’t need to paint, buy new furniture, Sylvania light bulbs etc. The room just needs a little lift to have our spirits roar again!

Redecorating doesn’t always mean big! Sometimes even as small as new throw pillows is all you need.

Watch out for the reveal my lovelies!

It’s Friday once again my lovelies – what do you plan to do this weekend? As for us we might check out the Peranakan Museum’s 1st Year Anniversary.

Highlights on Saturday, 25 April The festivities extend until 9.30pm on Saturday night, as The Melodians (a well-known Peranakan band from Malacca, Malaysia) will entertain the evening crowd (applicable to visitors with the Peranakan Museum admission sticker).

Highlights on Sunday, 26 April: Get up close and personal with MediaCorp artistes, Jeanette Aw and Pierre Png of Little Nonya fame, as they present song items, joget with the audience and banter in Baba Malay!

Address: 39 Armenian Street, Singapore 179941
Website: www.peranakanmuseum.sg
Admission Charges: $2 per person

And on Sunday, most probably we would be waking up really late, eat a brunch of scrambled egg with smoked salmon. It would have been picture perfect if I had one of those beautiful wicker outdoor dining sets like the ones you see in lifestyle magazines but we already have this metal garden set so I have to make do with that for now.

After that we will see how it goes… Anyway, I do hope you have a wonderful weekend my lovely readers ;) See you next week!
