Hello! Welcome back to my blog :)

Home Sweet Home

You must have seen those whitehall mailboxes the suburbs? I have always dreamt of having on of those but unfortunately the houses where we have lived in didn’t have these type of mailboxes.

Whenever I see these houses with mailboxes together with those address plaques, I can’t help but wish we can fast forward the time when we are already living on our very won dream home.

I dream of waking up in the morning and going to the mailbox posts to fetch the newspaper and check if there are mails as well.

Oh well, it would happen sooner or later I am sure. For now I wish you wonderful days ahead.

Gifts Buying Guide

My grandma’s 75th birthday is getting closer. I already decided more or less what I will get her but man, it was difficult to decide.

It doesn’t matter what occasion it is, Christmas or birthdays, we all love receiving gifts.

Here are a some tips that can help you choose the right gift for the right person:

1. To help make up your mind you can easily read reviews of gifts you are considering buying at places like Buy.com, Epinions.com etc etc.

2. For gifts that are wearable, make sure you get the right size. Or to avoid the hassle, just get a gift accessories, such as necklace, hats or scarves etc.

3. It’s obvious, but keeping an up to date list of the birthday, anniversary, etc, dates of your friends and relatives will mean that you’ll always know when it’s time to buy a gift. That way, you’ll probably receive more gifts too when it’s your turn.

4. Do some price comparison and look for for discount coupons.

5. Think about the recipient of the gift, my grandma for example would certainly not appreciate a glossy magazine subscription or my nine year old nephew would probably not like to get pen set but would rather receive the latest toys.

Gifts is not necessarily only for Christmas or birthdays. Giving and receiving gifts does wonders to self esteem. I hope you can find the time to give to someone today like maybe me? :)

Now if you are thinking of getting me some baby gifts for the near future, I would gladly accept them all!

Conserve water, use rain water

rain-barrels

Some of us live in very dry areas and having a garden can be difficult. Many will just give up on the thought of gardening when they realize how how little water there is, but there are ways to cope with less water.

What you can do is start rain harvesting. It’s one of the best ways to keep your garden alive during a drought. Drought is most of the time predicted far in advanced, or those already experiencing a drought will be given a few weeks of heavy rain. When the rain come, make sure you take the opportunity to set up several rain barrels. Many people think this would be a time consuming or that it’s plain silly. But this will seriously save you many gallons of water and it actually requires little work.

Finding the barrels is easy. You can either use your own garbage bins or you can go to SimplyRainBarrels.com where they have a variety of rain barrels for sale. When you have your rain barrel, you will probably want to cover the top with a screen of some sort to filter out any unwanted leaves or debris that might fall off the roof of your house.

The use of rain water barrels might sound like an old idea but it will make really make a lot of difference!

How Exactly do work at home Moms tackle business chores daily?

Is it possible to work online? It sure is! You just have to know the basics of website building and the perseverance to write content for your website to get started. You can use your website to rent out advertisement spaces and sell digital (ebooks, software etc) or tangible items (handcrafted jewelry like those on etsy etc). For you to get paid, you must have a way to accept payments.

One other way of earning online is by selling services such as freelance content writing and virtual assistance. Earning online can be quite lucrative, but most moms would rather have an offline business and a real store they can manage on their spare time. The more popular offline businesses include: a boutique, a pet grooming clinic, a nail salon, a hair perming salon, and others.

Now, here’s a little secret you must know about when you plan on working at home: you must have someone you trust to bring money to the bank for you. When you’re neck deep in work and you don’t have time to fix your bills, hiring someone else to encash checks, and deposit or withdraw cash is a good idea. But remember, it should be someone you can trust with your hard-earned cash.

To ensure the safety of your money you can also buy cash bags, locking bags or a handy night deposit bag to transport money to and from the bank so your cash is safer. You can use the same types of bags for transporting important documents.

Getting rid of all unnecessary things

If you have been a regular here, you might know that I used to be an ebayer while I was living in Holland. I sold all kinds of stuff from my handmade jeweleries, native products, eye cover and all kinds of other things.

I also love to shop online. It’s just amazing how much stuff you can find on ebay from hello kitty items, rare gems, rare coins, natural fat burners like Stimerex ES to houses and even a whole German village.

I honestly haven’t really done any online shopping for awhile but since I am prepping for a baby, I am looking around for some good deals on baby items at ebay. I did found several cuties that I like but before I buy all of these I am going to finish getting rid of the unnecessary items we have in our house first.

Homemaker as a JOB

housewife When I was younger, I dream of having a corporate job, wearing high heels and conquer the world. But after several years of being married and being a full time homemaker, I just realized working on administrative careers is not what I could do for a long period of time. I am happy with what I am doing now. And I could always wear high heels anyway:)!

Being a homemaker is a wonderful job! They say it’s the best…do you agree? It is a 24/7 job. We do get paid with much LOVE from the family.

A lot of women nowadays consider staying home to take care of the family but sometimes still have the yearning to contribute financially.

Well, if the homemakers is excellent in one homemaking skill, then they might just help in earning extra income for the family.

One hobby that might bring an income to a woman at home is cooking or baking. Cooking and baking are wonderful hobbies. One can make dishes, cakes and pastries and sell it to friends and relatives for special occasions.

Sewing is also a homemaking skill that can come handy. I have met some homemakers that are making quilts that are just works of art. These can be made inexpensively by recycling leftover fabrics into squares and other shapes and artistically arranging the pieces.

And of course, if the homemaker loves writing, she could always try to earn money by blogging, freelance writing and many many more.
