Happy 8 Months Sean!

Hey Baby!!

You are 8 months old already. Where did the time go? You can now sit, crawl and pull yourself up…you’re even trying to climb out of your playpen. It’s seldom that you sit still, when you are sitting on my lap and you see the laptop, for sure you will go and dive for it.

You are also walking like you are in the military :D – it’s so so cute!

You started with solids but we have to temporarily stop it because you have been throwing up a lot and I was very worried that you are not gaining weight because of this. We’ll try it again in a few weeks or so.

Oh and yeah you are so fascinated with paper – magazine, books and newspaper! Maybe you’re gonna be a writer someday :D

Lately you are throwing your head back a lot and fake coughing when you don’t like something. Getting you dressed is also a battle with you – you flip as hard as you can or grab things you see around you. I don’t know what you don’t like about getting dressed or changed.

A week ago you would put your head next to my head. I think that was your way of kissing but just a couple of days ago you gave me real kisses. Oh that’s just so amazing!!!

I am now busy organizing your first birthday party. We will be doing it in Manila so that our family and friends can finally meet you.

Hello! Welcome back to my blog :)

Belated Happy 7 months Sean!

Dear Sean,

It’s a week too late but better late than never right? You are now 7 months old and becoming more and more mobile. We cannot leave you alone for 1 second because you will surely dive or grab something and put it in your mouth.

Just a few days ago, you started saying Papapapapa and Mamamapa!! Oh you have no idea how delighted I was to hear those words.

You also like to make faces and show your tongue. I don’t know where you got that, probably from Simon – the guy in the educational program you watch. You looks so hilarious when you make this faces, I still need to get a chance to take a photo of that ! I still cannot believe that you are already 7 months- don;t grow up too fast baby.

I love you so so much!!

Momma

Unexpected Bloggy Break

It’s been like forever since I last posted here. It’s because we have not had much sleep lately with Sean waking up really early in the morning and having trouble in getting back to sleep.

It’s been like this for a month now.

And now we think he’s teething. He hardly eats and is quite moody. It’s very unusual of him to be like this. I hope this stage passes quickly as it’s so heartbreaking to see you in pain.

Here’s a picture of him when he’s not grumpy :P

My baby singing his lullaby

This is so funny! Hubby was trying to get Sean to sleep so he sang him his lullaby but instead of sleeping Sean decided to join his Papa singing. Watch it till the end for Sean’s solo part.

Childproofing Your Home

If you have a little tot at home who is very much eager to walk and explore his surrounding, it is time to start childproofing your home. Little kids love to climb chairs, check what is on top of the table or touch almost everything that is beyond reach. Accidents happen even at home and unintentional injury is one of the causes of children’s death all over the world. Prevention is better than cure; try to eliminate the possible causes of these injuries by child proofing your home.

The first stop will be the kitchen; you may want to seek ideas on home help with My Hammer on how to install safety latches on cabinets and drawers. This will keep children from getting hold of potentially poisonous household products. It is also important to keep the kitchen appliances and kitchenware away from the edge of counters and tables.

The next important area to child proof is the bathroom area. It is important to install toilet locks so that the toilet lid is kept closed. Remember that a child can drown even in one inch of water and they can fall into a toilet easily too. If water heater is installed in the bathroom there should be anti-scalding devices on showers and faucets head to prevent possible burns. Set the water heater thermostat at the correct temperature normally at 120 degrees. Water which is at 140 degrees can give a third degree burn to a child in a matter of three seconds.

The entire house should be child proof; so all unused electrical outlets should be covered with safety caps. It is better to install safety gates at the top and bottom of the stairs and also in doorways of the rooms. Do not place furniture near the windows because children may climb the windowsills. Check the looped cords of the blinds because it may cause strangulation to kids.

As much as we parents would want to be with our child 24/7; it is quite impossible to do because there are other responsibilities to do. Relying on baby sitter or nanny to take care of the child is not also 100% accident free. Childproofing the house is one way to keep the child safe. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Tired and Sleepless

Wow it’s been two weeks since I posted an entry here … I don’t know what happened but it’s like when Sean turned 5 months old,  there was also a switch that was turned on. A switch for waking up in the wee hours in the morning and not sleeping anymore. It’s been like that for the last two weeks that’s why I don’t have much energy to blog. I am very tired.

Just this morning after I fed him, he  didn’t want to sleep anymore. He was moving around our bed, pulling his dad’s hair, leaning against me. All of a sudden he  vomited, I think he threw up everything he just drank. We had to get out of bed to wash him and take the bedsheets from the bed as well. We didn’t go back to bed anymore and went to the living room since we know he was not going to sleep any time soon..he super active. We on the other hand are super sleepy. We put him to play in his playpen. His dad went to make coffee and I slept at the sofa…I don’t know what happened next.

My hubby said, brace yourself because this is just the beginning! More fun sleepless nights to come :)

Happy 5th Month Birthday Sean

Look, look I can do push ups!

He just got his hair cut again, yep twice already in 5 months because he’s sweating so much with so much hair!

My little Prince Charming, I cannot believe it, you are Five months old already. You change so much everyday. I cannot even keep up with posting here the new little things you do. Let me see where to start, uhm okay there are times when you would scream on the top of your lungs while you look at our ceiling fan, I find it so funny!  And times when you would just start babbling like you have a story to tell.

You started rolling over and you can move around in your playpen on your belly or on your back backwards ! Sometimes you would cry because you would get stuck in a corner and cannot move furthur. Once we put you in the middle, you are okay again.

Another thing that you started doing these past few weeks is that you started grabbing our mouths and sticking your little fingers in it. You also play with our face alot and sometimes you scratch us if I don’t keep your fingernails trimmed really short.

There are many things in your environment that interests you like the japanese umbrella hanging on top of our room or the dragonflies that fly around in the afternoon. You love licking everything that you find interesting which makes me really crazy because I am worried of the germs and what not you get when you lick these stuff.

I can’t believe that next month you will be half a year old. I can’t wait to find out what new things you will do!
