One of the pressing problems which most new parents have to face is getting their newborn baby to sleep through the night. They normally have to get up a number of times to feed, or just to soothe their baby from crying his or her lungs out. For these parents, sleep becomes a luxury. They would willingly sell gold to potential gold buyers in exchange for some sleep. Although there is no magical formula to get your baby to suddenly sleep through the night, there are some tips you could try:
Try to keep noise and activity down, right before baby’s bedtime. Create a relaxing and comforting pre-bedtime routine for him. This may include giving him a warm bath, reading him a story, or softly singing him a song. You may also sit in a rocking chair while patting him on the back.
Be aware that newborns sleep around 15-19 hours a day, but not all in one stretch. Because their stomachs are still small, they still tend to get hungry during the night. You can feed your baby more during the day, so he won’t get up so many times at night to feed.
If you can, try to get some shut-eye throughout the day, just to catch up on sleep.
Hello! Welcome back to my blog :)

Happy Weekend everyone! For this week the theme for Mommy Moments is rainbow colors. Sean is lying on a bed sheet I’ve sewn for him. I wanted him to have something I made and this is something I could do.
It has the colors of the rainbow and he loves looking at the colorful images here whenever he’s on his tummy.
New moms like me can be dreadfully paranoid about our babies’ development. We are always anxiously waiting for our babies to reach milestone after milestone. Each one hoping that her child will turn out to be the new Einstein or Mozart or the millennium’s greatest genius.
An essential factor in becoming successful in whatever field is exceptional language skills. One has to be able to speak eloquently and converse intelligently for one to be able to share his thoughts. And, of course, one has to have excellent comprehension skills to get the most out of various learning experiences.
There are plenty of products and programs that target early childhood development and that claim to boost a young child’s cognitive abilities. It can be quite daunting for a mom like me to choose which ones are suitable for my son and which ones would greatly benefit him. One program I came across with targets early language development.
Your Baby Can Read, a program designed by Dr. Robert Titzer, was created specifically for teaching young children to read by exposing them to language and reading early in life. I have heard many positive feedbacks about this reading program but there are also some who refute the effectiveness of the program. I guess I wouldn’t really know if it works or not until I try it firsthand. I’m hoping my baby would already be reading by the time he turns a year old. But if not, then I’ll still be glad we got to have plenty of bonding moments while going through the program.

It’s been 4 months since you came into our life. Your birth day is a life changing event! Our life has never been the same since you came ( no more eating leisurely…nowadays it’s all fast chewing – fast food because you might wake up any minute or you might cry if you are awake at the time because you don’t like laying in your baby gym anymore) .
I can still remember how afraid I was almost afraid to hold you thinking I might break your little body. I was afraid to leave you alone in your crib, even watching you as you sleep, checking every couple of minutes if you were still breathing ( I was scared to death of SIDS). And now fast forward – we are co sleeping, playing and talking and you are doing all kinds of antics like trying to escape from your mosquito net..
That all being said, just want you to know you are my sunshine! I love you!!
Sean, you just turned 4 months on April 7, same day as your Papa’s birthday. What time flies! If you ever read this one day, I want you to know that I am so happy to be your momma.

You are the cheekiest baby I have met. You have no idea how happy you make me feel every time I look at you! You are certainly one of the best things that happened in my life. At 4 months, you now weigh 6.5 kgs. Not much weight gain since your last weighing. You are heavy my baby boy but I don’t mind carrying you:) (for a few minutes) not too long though because Momma is gonna break her back
if she continues carrying you around all the time !
and the sweetest baby boy! He’s 3 months plus a couple of weeks here and no he cannot really sit yet
I had to make this picture really quick.

Sean didn’t like sleeping in his crib so we let him sleep on the sofa. In this picture you will see Sean trying to get out of his mosquito net
