The Great Singapore Sale Sacrifice

MommaWannabe’s Sacrifice

It’s The Great Singapore Sale here in Singapore. It started last 29th of May and will end on the 26th of July. This is a yearly event but I am not gonna go crazy and buy all kinds of things like that super duper cute bag or shoes that I saw ( oh maybe just one bag ) that I do not really need. Sacrifice;)! I am saving all the shopping vouchers we have here for baby stuff. But I don’t want to buy yet until I am sure I will get a baby very soon.

Of course I still look when I don’t have much to do but no buying. “Kijken kijken,niet kopen” as they say in dutch. I would admit though that some shops have such good tactics to attract buyers, they would give you free logo water bottles to sell you that gym shoes. And it really works most of the time.

I’ll admit, I have bit the bait more than once. I am only HUMAN after all. What about you, ever fallen for this?

MommaWannabe preparing for a baby or babies

To have a child is one of the most special times in a woman’s life and naturally you would want to treasure each moment, especially the day that your baby is born.

I cannot wait till the time I can already send out birth announcements for my first born and later on family holiday photo cards with my baby. Our relatives and friends have been bugging me for a long long time on when will they see me with a baby. We are hoping…early next year!

This is more or less how I would want my baby birth announcement to look like if it’s a girl

Sending baby birth announcements in Holland are typical and are the best way for parents to share to the world or just everybody special to them their baby’s arrival. It also shows how the relationship has grown since marriage.

I don’t think that they do that in the Philippines a lot but even if we don’t live in Holland anymore, I think I will keep up with the tradition.

I know that preparing for a baby could be a very busy time but nowadays,ordering and sending birth announcements are now easier than ever with sites like peachtreeprints.com.

Mommas should shop wisely

In my previous post I told you that I am already preparing for future buys I need to do when I finally have a baby. On my recent visit to the mall I realized how costly it is to have a child but I am not really taken aback by that fact. I kinda expected that already.

With though times we are having right now,we should definitely start shopping wisely. So I already started scouting on the malls and online as well for the thing I will likely buy and while doing that I found several cool Babies R Us Promotion Code. Lucky me that my mom is living in Canada. She could easily buy this as her gift to her future grandchild:).

I was looking at this bag, and I really like it. (Got the hint, Mom?)

Anyway aside from the baby discount coupon codes, I also found some other coupons that are pretty attractive as well like the Lane Bryant Promo Codes and Catherines Coupon Code. They can be used to buy Plus Size Apparel.

I hope you guys are also trying to find ways to save on stuff that we cannot just avoid buying like the baby neccesities. Look of for coupon codes like the ones I have mentioned above and it might just make a difference on your budget.

My Acne Problem

Women have so many issues, to name a few; cellulites, weight problem and acne.

My worst enemy of all these is acne. For a very long time I have been trying to find a way to get rid of this problem. I think I have tried all sort of cure but finding the best acne treatments that suit you can be quite tricky too. What works for one might not work for you.

Okay maybe acne is not life threatening but it is seriously bad for ones ego.

If you have serious acne, you can better go consult a dermatologist. However, in milder cases you will often be able to get it under control by yourself just by persevering.

Tips to conquer your acne:

Diet

Very important, eat at least 5 types of fresh fruit and vegetables each day. As we all know fresh fruits and vegetables are full of nutrients that our body needs. They boost the immune system and are good antioxidants. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to flush your system of toxins.

Cosmetics

Hypo-allergenic and water based cosmetics are the way to go. Avoid heavy creams and the oil free products. Also don’t forget to wash your skin thoroughly every night to remove makeup residue.

Clean Skin

Do not scrub your face harshly and clean your skin nightly. Try to use an exfoliator to gently remove damaged skin and unplug pores once or twice a week.

Stress

It is contributing factor to acne so try to take it easy and relax. Emotions do trigger chemical reactions in our body, which can cause an outbreak.

Hormones

Hormones can play a role in acne flare ups and they can be used to reduce outbreaks. Your doctor may decide to use HRT to eliminate or reduce your acne outbreaks.

Do not touch

Do not touch your face- our hands are dirty no matter how clean we think we are.

These steps have helped me in the last couple of weeks and I think that for me, this is the best acne solution.

Featured Momma: Amy Rolloff

I might have mentioned this in the past that I just love watching Little People, Big World reality series on Discovery Home & Health. Amy and Matt are really cool parents and yet they are disciplinarians as well. They try to teach their kids responsibility, make them help around the house and run errands. I like Amy Rolloff alot because she’s so good at being a mom. I recently read one interview on Amy and really liked her answer on this question:

What’s the best part of being a mom?

The best part is every moment I am with them. When Zachary was in the hospital having leg surgery, I was there with him from the very first moment to the last. Coaching Jacob in soccer, it was just him, myself, and his team. We shared that moment. When my kids have their friends over at the house…afterwards when any one of them want to talk, I know what they are referring to because I was there. Just there. Sharing a moment at a volleyball game with Molly and just watching her play. At the boys last home game in soccer, they honored the seniors. I reflected on all of the soccer games I have gone to, taken them to, watched, etc. and how many times I left the house in disarray. I wouldn’t trade anything to not share in the little and big moments I have been privileged to with them. In a fleeting moment they are grown up on their own–but I’ll still be mom.

Amy is one sweet and feisty Momma!

The kids Zach, Jeremy and Molly are like any other kids, they are growing up teenagers so you can imagine they can be quite a handful at times. Jacob the youngest of all four is really adorable but there are moments like when they went rv camping , when he acts up, he apparently didn’t like to go on that trip. He’s acting up didn’t last that long…after awhile he did lighten up and ran around with his big brother Zach.

Amy has such a great way of handling them and with the help of Matt – they are doing the best they can to raise responsible children.

This commercial is one I can never get tired of…it’s just a feel good commercial!

Who wants free shoes?

Hi guys, you might have noticed that I have been a little bit inactive in the blogosphere lately… I am sorry I am a little bit busy doing some research on several things.

And also I am continuously trying to de clutter my house which will take a long time for somebody like me who has separation anxiety. I have plenty of women’s shoes I hardly used and I don’t know what to do with them. I find it very difficult to just throw them away.

I have a size 38. If you are from Manila and want my shoes, leave me a comment.
We can meet up in Manila/Makati area but you have to buy me drinks okay? (Just kidding!)

They Lure you like Magnet

I’m sure you’ve seen them, they are a favorite of advertising companies everywhere. They give you a freebie or cheap promotional product to lure you in, then hook you on it and you end up paying far more for their use from there on it.

Certainly come of my favorite shampoos and perfumes got me that way!

I can see why companies like them as well. If the quality of the product is good enough then I’m going to want more. Of course the other side of the coin is that if it is a rubbish product then I have no interest in getting more – so companies need to be careful what promotional products they use if they don’t want me costing them money!

But I freely admit I am a sucker for Promotional Products. A good freebie is almost impossible to say no to, right? I mean, who doesn’t want free stuff?

I’ve had loads of free stuff through magazines, people giving stuff away on the street, online stuff such as promotional offers or competitions. Things like

Perfume

Coffee

Make Up

Shampoo

Food Stuffs

And loads, loads more. Which is nice as they are some of my favorite things!

I admit they work on me too. Looking around my bathroom I can see plenty of products that I first got as a freebie that I still buy now. Guess I’m a marketers dream like that, I am the person they’re selling to when giving away promotional products.

Wonder if its possible to live off free products and competition prizes?

Anyway, that’s just an idle thought… I’m more interested in you guys. Who here has had freebie promotional products? If so have they worked on you? Have you ended up buying the products for money after the freebie ran out?

Surely I’m not the only person in the world promotional products work on!
